This month's art speaks to me on so many levels. I have a great big love for swans. When I was pregnant with my firstborn I used to take walks by a pond that had swans. The couple had just had their cygnet babies, and so we bonded. They weren't too happy with me being close, but I had such great respect for how they protected. I was watching firsthand the love parents have for their young.
Fast forward to a year ago, and I had so much fun painting this swan art. At the time I didn't have a word that went with it, but as I was looking at it recently it became clear the word wasn't about the swans, but about the lily pads. The Lord revealed the role of the lily pad, and it correlates beautifully with our role and calling as Believers. I hope you love this one as much as I do!
