breaking dawn

I've been in my own little world lately.  Christmas orders have been pouring in...yay!  It's a good thing, but when that happens other things take a back seat.  The house suffers a bit.  We eat breakfast for dinner A LOT!  I get frazzled.  Deadlines make me crazy.  I have no idea how people work full time and still do it all.

My Honey's a fixer.  I love that about him.  If he sees I'm frustrated he rushes in and tries to take care of me.  For instance my phone has been bugging me again.  I drop calls.  It bounces back and forth between 3G and 4G and won't allow me to connect.  Cell phones and I have a sordid history.  I swear they should hire me and pay me big bucks to find all the kinks.  If a cell phone can last a month with me it's golden!  Anyway we spent part of the weekend in Best Buy...again.  Honey going to bat to get me hooked up.  Didn't work, but he tried.  Then he worked on a computer issue I was having etc...  I love feeling takin' care of.  He's really good at that.

To top it all off he was my chick flick stand in.  Usually when a new Twilight flick comes out, the girls and I hit the movies for a night out.  We go out to dinner and then hit the teenie bopper movie...lusting over Jacob's ripped abs and gushing over Bella and Edward's deep love for each other.

My Honey of course thinks it's weird...and it is;)  He really doesn't get the Twilight movie thing, but last night we sat at sweet candlelit restaurant and he feigned interest in the movie just for me.  Major brownie points girls!  Gotta say out of all those movies I like Breaking Dawn the best.  It was pretty slow in some parts, but it was really good.  I had no idea how they were going film this particular book, but they pulled it off.

Inside I'm really a 15 year old girl.  I swear the thing I got most excited about at the movie was the PREVIEW for the Hunger Games!  Have you read that series??  It's written for teenagers, just like the Twilight books.  How I got all caught up in these books is beyond me, but they are really interesting.

This is off topic, but do you ever buy cards for yourself?  If I see a card I love I buy it...even if I don't really have someone in mind at the time.  This one just makes me laugh.  The inside says, That's why we're friends.  Hello?  I personally think it's a good thing being a weirdo.  How about you?

Have a blessed day.

247.  cafe caturra...pork panini
248.  uninterrupted conversation with my best friend
249.  saving money when honey figures things out
250.  getting spruced up for my man
251.  the excitement of my favorite holiday fast approaching

  1. Love that your man takes care of you...blessed, you are! As far as being a wierdo...I agree! My 7 year old says that "being normal is boring!" Have a great week.

  2. That's ok...I am 15 too and HAD to go see Twilight this weekend too with the hubby. ;) Now we have to wait a whole year for part 2!!

  3. I DO buy cards like that! I frame lots of them to keep in random places.

It's always a good thing when we can get our sweeties to watch the chick-flicks!

  4. Hey Becky! I am a 15 year old girl at heart as well. I love the whole Twilight series and the Hunger Games series as well. I'm going to see Breaking Dawn tonight and can't wait :)

I have an 6th grader so my excuse it that I am just previewing the teen books to see if they are appropriate for her. I actually preview a lot of the books for my mom friends. When a new teen book comes out they call me and ask if it's appropriate or not :) I loved Divergent, it's similar to Hunger Games but not as gory.

  5. I never got into the Twilight frenzy but if I actually picked up the books I just know I would like them. Good for honey for being the stand in for your movie ~ date nights are always good things ~ we have one planned for next month as I want to go and see New Years Eve when it opens. Hopefully you will get your kinks all sorted out with your phone ~ and you know what ~ being a weirdo is fun! Happy Sunday sweetie. xo

  6. Lol love the card Becky...I sometimes will see a photo I cant resist on a card and buy the card just for the photo.
Glad you had a fun night with your sweetheart!
Nice to hear that the orders are pouring go girl!

    Deborah xoxo

  7. I was having a hard morning (and night) and then thought of your blog. I knew it would make me feel better. You are kind, gentle, and welcoming. My favorite part is that your blog is "Truth" and you remind me to seek it.

Going now to read today's "Jesus Calling" devotion.

Blessings ~ And here's to being a WEIRDO! hahaha...loved that!

  8. Love the card, Becks! Even if it says you're a weirdo...glad you got your stuff figured out. Love that feeling of problems solved. Oh and who's excited for thanksgiving???!!! :D

  9. I buy cards that make me cry or laugh. That is the test. If they pass it is in the cart with me. I am not into Twilight. I read the first and saw the first movie. Then I lost interest in them.
    I am a fuh-reaking weirdo though :)
Your honey is a sweetie. I have one like that. Blessed for sure!

  10. I buy cards with lovely paintings on front and never pass up a Maxine card:O) Aww you have a hubby like mine:O) They are the best. I dont get into the Twilight series only bc Im freakin scared of vampires, I have seen a few of ther movies. Have a great day!!!

  11. That card rocks!!!

Not to make you more frazzled, but I'm curious when the charm bracelets are going to hit your store? My eyes are peeled. : )

Your honey spoils you! I'm glad, because you deserve it.

  12. I think being in love with one's husband is a bee-autiful thing. Cade's really excited about _The Hunger Games_. He made me watch the trailer last night. I haven't read any of those books or any of the _Twilight_ ones, either. I don't read, in general, nearly as much as I like.

  13. love the card, sometimes i buy them for myself to frame. and that is one awesome husband to see the movie with you ; )

  14. That card made me laugh so hard! I wanna see that movie so bad!

  15. I went to Breaking Dawn with a few friends - the midnight showing!! It' taken me the weekend to recover. I'm no spring chick!!

    I love the card :)

  16. I love this post. I am also a 15 year old on the inside lusting after Jacob's abs and waiting for a vampire to come fall in love me with me. Thankfully, my husband allows me to indulge in all this ridiculousness. I went and saw the movie by myself on Friday night because none of my girlfriends were available and I thought my hubby might feel a little awkward watching me swoon over boys 8 and 10 years younger than me. :)

We love Cafe Caturra too and went on a date to the one out in Short Pump Sat. night. It's a wonderful place to go with the one you love!

  17. I LOVE that card. I could look at cards all day : ) They are my favorite.
I love your girl-stand-in : ) He is the best.
I am sorry about your phone issues : (

  18. So glad you had a night out with your man. He definitely sounds like a keeper. Have to say he sounds like mine :) I just have to add a giggle as my son went to high school with Taylor or "Jacob" and we can't believe it when people talk about him like you do. It cracks us up because to us he's just a kid my son knows from school. Too funny! Happy Sunday.

  19. I to feel like a teenager instead of a middle age women who wonders
why she giggles like a young girl when another Twilight movie comes out,
What is wrong with me ? Young at Heart is all I can say.

  20. Becky, I'm a new reader. Really enjoy your blog. I love to buy funny cards, too. I tell my kids that weird is wonderful.
I LOVE The Hunger Games! Hope the movie is great, too.

  21. Sending weirdo hugs
    from the Big Apple!
    Your honey is a hero
    for going with you!
    Love ya lots : )
    xx Suzanne

  22. LOVE that card!!!

I'm not a Twilight gal, but I have endured the movies for my daughter. The last one WAS way better than the 1st, so I hope this one will be too... but I'm not gonna complain about a movie as long as I get my popcorn, raisinettes and Dr. Pepper. :o)

YAY for husbands and date night!

  23. Love the card, but never think of buying one for myself. Love a supportive husband. Do not love twilight. Sorry, just don't get it. But you have fun with it. :)

  24. Knowing that your man was watching it with you pretty much made my man's day as he sat beside ME. I've got to be honest... I had way more fun with my MAN there!!! Not that I don't just love my girly time... but I kind of love sharing some silly romantic fun with Adrain sometimes too! Glad your orders are pouring in... we've got to get caught up this week maybe? Love ya.

  25. well i don't think your weird at all, but the picture on the card does look an awful LOT like a certain farmgirl from Virginia. :)

  26. Loved the movie, too! And my favorite part of going to the movies is seeing all the previews;) You are so blessed to have such a sweet Honey ( but I'm guessing you already know that)!!

  27. I loved the movie too, and I'm super excited about The Hunger Games. I read all three books in a period of just a few days. They were fantastic. I just hope the movie does the books justice.

  28. I went to Breaking Dawn with my daughter who is 17. this one was better than the others. the book is always better of course :)
a mature vampire book is A discovery of witches by Deborah Harkness.
I haven't read The hunger games but the trailer has me interested..
I love the saying "We never grow up, we just learn how to behave in public!"

  29. First, I actually just saw Breaking Dawn tonight! I don't think I have formulated my opinion yet, but I don't think it was my favorite of them so far. I liked New Moon a lot. The books are always better though. ;) Ah, HUNGER GAMES! I can't wait for the movie. I loved the books. That preview choked me up with the Reaping scene. I really think they'll do a good job with that one.
I totally get what you mean about the cards thing. I totally have a love for cards and fun paper in general! I often stock up on cute cards for various occasions. Just wanna be prepared! :)

  30. oh, yay! lexi and i are headed to the gym, then i'm picking upHER girlfriend and the 3 of us are headed to breaking dawn! i loved this book series and someone just mentioned to me the hunger games... sounds horrid, tho? i guess vampires do, too! :)
ps: your husband sounds like a doll! yes, major points for him! :)

Thanks for taking a minute to share your thoughts. I love hearing what YOU have to say:)
