Day 49 of 49

Okay I've reached my first goal date and of course last week I said I was extending it 6 weeks:) I need more time. I have been sabotaging myself lately. Not only with food, but with thoughts. When you are fairly close to your goal weight it is super easy to get distracted, lose focus and to slow down on the progress. This is why I have never quite made it to the finish line. I need something to switch again in my mind to make me pick up the slack. Any ideas?? I have learned my weak points in all of this. We eat out alot on the weekends and this definitely sidetracks my progress, and there is always some special occasion to bend my resolve!

My inspiration photo this week is of the lovely Brooke Shields. She is just a ray of sunshine. I love her curves, she's a mom of two and she's 43! I know I'm always showing celebrities and this may not be the most accurate depiction of the average woman, but what can I say...they inspire me. I hope you find some motivation to help you meet your goals this week:)

Have a blessed day!

  1. yeah, why can't we all just be the exact same size anyway???

I am a recovering food controler. I still find myself journalling the night before so I can be prepared though. Weekends are especially hard, but I try really hard to eat a small but healthy breakfast, and then PLAN weekend treats and have no guilt. Is that freakish?

Of course then today my husband took us out for icecream, and dark forces conspired against me because when I ordered a single scoop, I got "blessed" with two. So my solution? I ate about half, told myself strictly to enjoy and savor every bite, which I did, then I handed it to my husband who still wears a 34 inch waist.

That may or may not help...

By the way, thankyou for your reassurance that I am not a loser. Always good to hear! lol

  3. Sorry about the above entry. I wrote out this big long comment before the deleted entry and it wouldn't let me post so I did a test and it worked. Basically I said that chewing gum in between SMALL meals has helped me not to snack and eat and keeps my mouth busy. So chew away and make sure it's Trident watermelon gum!!!!

  4. I just discovered your blog. You are adorable. I am not sure what your goal is... I am getting lots of error and kicked out when I try to look at any older posts. Here is what works for me.
    1. Drink lots of water. First thing, before coffee - down a glass.
    2. Protein at every meal and snack. Chicken, nuts, yogurt, cheese, seeds. Just throw a little in with whatever you are having. You might even end up not wanting so many carbs.
    3. No fried food... goes right to wherever your trouble areas are.
    4. Watch the soda, salt and caffiene. None are really good for you. Moderation is the key.
    5. Don't deprive yourself of your favorites - or you will splurge. Me a little chocolate everday keeps me happy.
    6. Eat lower sugar GI (glycemic index) fruits and veggies. Go for most bang for your buck. Watermelon, sweet potatoes, blueberries, apples. High water, high color and intense flavor.
    7. Skip empty foods you don't really like. I skip potatoes, sandwich bread and buns alot.
    8. Use healthy fats - olive oil for cooking.
    9. Add a little resistance training. Building lean muscle accelerates your metabolism so you are burning more calories even while sleeping. And its good for your bones.
    10. Get your sleep and destress. Stress is one of the biggest obstacles to losing weight. Triggers hormones that make you store fat.

Hope this helps. You look fabulous to me! You already have the best body part - a beautiful smile. :)

  5. What I have to offer you is not advice. What I will offer you is prayers and send you a smile as I think you have it in you to not only meet your goals but continue to make them your life-style. Being that I am 43! Eeeek when did that happen I don't know! However, you can meet goals at any time in life, no matter Brooke Sheilds or just you Becky...,perfect just as you are!

Sunshine to your day my friend,

  6. Just stumbled across your it! As a girl struggling to lose my last baby pounds, I'm sending good vibes your way!

  7. it's so hard to have a goal, but i truly believe that if you really want something, then you will achieve it.
all i wanted was to lose 8 lbs in 8 weeks.
but i'm down 3 in 8 weeks, and it's something.
    keep it up!

  8. I would be the LAST person to give you advice! I eat and eat and eat (then I decide I am on a diet and that lasts for a day :)

Keep it up! you can do it- that picture needs to go on your fridge for each time you open it :)

  9. I'm a font of unsolicited advice - always.
I got nothing here, because like every other woman in the US you've already heard it all.
Practicing it is different, I KNOW.
    Keep on.

  10. Hi! You have received lots of advice. I totally get it...It is so hard to complete the goal. Keep it up! I think you are adorable. Be can do it!

And I adore Brooke Sheilds! She is beautiful!

  11. Brooke Shields is gorgeous! :) Congrats to you for even being willing to work on this. I am struggling....

  12. I just started using (Marla_SBB)again. I used it once before and lost 45 pounds. Then life got in the way. But I did maintain the weightloss with only gaining back a few ponds back.

The best part about this site is it is 100% FREE! It helps me keep track of my weight, food, exercise and many other goals.

Thanks for taking a minute to share your thoughts. I love hearing what YOU have to say:)
